How to use the Phish Alert Button within Gmail

Use the Phish Alert Button for Gmail extension to report suspicious emails quickly and easily. When you receive a potential phishing email, click the Phish Alert Button in your Gmail toolbar to report the email to your administrator.

 

How to Report an Email to the IT Helpdesk

  1. View the suspicious email via checkbox, make sure not to click any links or download any attachments
    1. Note: There may be an "External" orange flag tied to the subject line
  2. Select the Phishing Hook Tool to report an email located in the Gmail Tool Bar above the email
    1. The tool will look something like this:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. You will get a popup "Report Phish!"
  4. Select Report
  5. Your reported email will generate a ticket and inform IT for review
  6. You have successfully reported an email
