Safety Services
Campus buildings are locked at night, and residence hall doors are locked at midnight. If you leave the residence halls or other campus building after closing hours, please secure the doors. Don’t prop open doors or admit unauthorized or uninvited persons after hours. Hall residents are responsible for locking the doors to their own room. Please report any maintenance problems that could compromise security to the Director of Facilities by calling (605) 668-1500 during the day or Campus Safety at night.
Security Escort
If you would like an escort, call Campus Safety at (9) 661-9883 from a campus telephone during the hours Campus Safety is on duty. A staff member will meet you and walk with you to or from a location on campus.
Security Programs
You can play an important role in crime prevention and campus security. Attend one of our security programs during new student orientation or one of our ongoing sessions in the residence halls, campus forums and college publications.
