Google Drive: 

Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google. Launched on April 24, 2012, Google Drive allows users to store files in the cloud, synchronize files across devices, and share files. The service syncs stored documents, photos and more across all the user's devices, including mobile devices, tablets and PCs. User’s Mount Marty email accounts are Google based accounts that have direct access to Google based products. 

Storage Capacity:

Users will have up to 100GB of free storage within Google Drive. Files can be dragged and dropped, uploaded, or created within Google Drive.

Pros:

  • Mount Marty Classroom PC’s have the Google Drive App Installed

  • You can store files of all shapes and sizes (Word Docs, Google Docs, PDFs, Videos, etc.)

  • You can save files directly from your email to your Drive

  • 1GB of storage is approximately 65,000 pages of Microsoft Word files (100GB Capacity)

Cons:

  • You must be signed into your Google Account

  • Formatting issues when converting file type (Word to Docs, Powerpoint to Slides, etc.)

  • Information is tied to one account, if your account is compromised, you will lose all data
