USB port functionality on ActivPanel 9

Summary

This article explains what happens when you connect a USB drive to one of the USB ports on the ActivPanel 9 and the ActivPanel 9 Premium.

Body

USB 3.0 (Blue port) and USB-C

When connecting a USB drive to the USB 3.0 or USB-C port, the contents of the USB drive can only be accessed from the ActivPanel's Files app while the Home source is selected. For all other sources, the contents of the drive can be accessed through the connected device’s file explorer; files will not appear in the panel's Files app.

 

USB 2.0 (White port)

When connecting a USB drive to the USB 2.0 port, the contents of the USB drive can only be accessed from the Files app on the panel, regardless of the source selected. Files will not be accessible from the connected device.
