Changing Audio Output to Computer Speakers

If you are noticing audio is playing out of your computer headphones or a different source, use these instructions to change your audio output source. Typically the audio output device is set incorrectly within the operating system and needs to be changed.

Please:

  1. Verify speakers are plugged into a power source (if powered)
  2. Verify speakers are plugged into the headphone jack
  3. Verify the audio output source is set to speakers in the Operating System
    1. If Windows 10/11:
      1. Click the "Sound"  icon in the taskbar
      2. Click the upward "Carrot" icon
      3. Select Headphones
    2. If Mac OS X:
      1. Open System Preferences
      2. Double-Click Sound
      3. Double-Click Headphones
