How to submit an Interlibrary Loan Request

Submiting an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Request Mount Marty University Library

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Visit the Support Portal Go to support.mountmarty.edu
  2. Click on "Library" You'll find this link at the top of the page.
  3. Select "Interlibrary Loan Request" This will take you to the ILL request form.
  4. Click "Request Service" This opens the full submission form.

Explaining the Form

Subject Line Treat this like the subject line of an email. We recommend using a format like:

  • Last Name - Item Info - ILL
  • Example: Badley - Ruth Commentary - ILL
  • This helps us quickly identify and process your request.

Cancellation Date

Choose a date when it's no longer worth getting the item. This tells us when to stop searching if we can't locate it.

Item Type

Select either Book or Periodical. This choice customizes the form to match the kind of item you're requesting.

  • If Book is selected: Fill in as many fields as you can (title, author, publication year, etc.). You're encouraged to copy and paste the URL where you found the book into the "Where did you find this information?" box.
  • If Periodical is selected: Use your citation (e.g., journal name, article title, volume/issue, pages) to complete the form. Do your best-even partial citations help us.

Considerations

  • Physical Items (Books/DVDs/etc.): These are shipped to our library and can take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Most show up in about 1.5 weeks. You'll receive an email when it's ready for pickup.
  • Articles (PDFs of Journal Articles or Book Chapters): These are sent to your email and typically arrive within 48 hours, though it may take up to 2-5 business days depending on availability.

If you have questions or run into issues, contact the library at library@mountmarty.edu or submit a help ticket on the support portal.
