Getting Started with MyLab and Mastering for your LMS - Student

Access and register for your MyLab or Mastering course from your Learning Management System (LMS). You can also upgrade temporary access or get diagnostics, if needed.

You might work in Blackboard, Canvas, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Sakai, or Schoology.

Open MyLab and Mastering from your LMS

Open your MyLab or Mastering course from your LMS course to register for access.

Course ID: You don't need a Course ID or invite link to register for MyLab and Mastering. If you’re prompted for a Course ID, clear your temporary internet cache. Then follow the instructions below.

  1. Log in to the LMS as a student and enter your course.

  2. Depending on your course setup, do one of the following.

    • Select MyLab and Mastering or Access Pearson in course navigation.
    • Select a Pearson link that goes directly to a specific assignment, course tool, or eText.
    • Barnes & Noble, Follett-Willo, RedShelf, and VitalSource: Select the bookstore link. The link is sometimes named Course Materials and may include the bookstore name. Next, check your opt status and, if applicable, select Launch Courseware or Access Courseware.

    Don't see the link?

    Select your LMS or bookstore below for help finding the link. Depending on your course setup, the link may be named differently or your instructor might need to adjust the course settings. If you still have trouble, contact your instructor.

  3. If prompted, select Open Pearson. Whether you see this button depends on your course setup.

  4. Select Open MyLab & Mastering.
  5. If you haven't already, register for MyLab and Mastering following the instructions below.

Register for MyLab and Mastering

You only need to register and sign in to MyLab and Mastering once. (If you're a section instructor or teaching assistant, see How to register.)

  1. Agree to any authorization requests.

  2. Link your student LMS and Pearson accounts. In some cases, we automatically create and link your account for you.

    Need to use a different account or unlink accounts? Contact Pearson Support.

  3. Depending on your course setup, you might be prompted to select an access option.

  4. Select Go to My Courses to open your MyLab or Mastering course. (Refresh the page if you don't see this button.)

After you register, open MyLab and Mastering from your LMS course.

Upgrade temporary access

If you registered using temporary access, upgrade to full access.

  1. Find your payment options.

  2. Enter an access code or buy access using a credit card or PayPal account.
